Seminar with T. Davis

Tina Davis is Special Advisor and Researcher at the King Institute, responsible for developing the King Institute´s platform «Peace Work and Social Justice».

Tina has a doctorate in sociology from the University of Sydney where she focused on human rights, migration and forced labor in supply chains. She has a background as a director and producer, and has, among other things, made the documentary Modern Slavery which won the Amanda Award for best documentary in 2009, and the International Global Development in Cinema Award in 2010. Tina has previously worked as a consultant for Norad where she did a global survey and wrote the report for the Norwegian development assistance program to combat modern slavery. Prior to that, she worked for the Rafto Foundation, where she led the work on a Norwegian modern slavery law on behalf of the organization and in collaboration with the Norwegian Bar Association. Tina is a member of UN University’s working group which is tasked with developing global policy guides for UN Sustainability Objective # 8.7. She is also the assistant editor and podcast host of The Journal of Modern Slavery.

Tina will be discussing methodological aspects of her current work.
